Crews are working on final isolated areas with outages in the system. Those affected customers with further issues, reports, or questions can call 620-221-0404.

1416 restored. Crews continue to respond. There may be some intermittent times where power comes back on and then trips off as faults are identified.

10:40pm
Crews are responding to multiple areas in the system. We are bringing more customers back up as quick as possible. 686 restored.

10:03pm
The current power outage is affecting about 1700 meters. The City of Winfield serves over 8,000 meters.

⚡ Ready to POWER UP your career? ⚡ The City of Winfield is looking for a Power Plant Operator who will play a hands-on role in delivering safe, reliable power to the community you call home.

This position operates and monitors power plant equipment, responds to after-hours emergencies, and performs routine maintenance to ensure reliability for our community.

⚫ Key Responsibilities
• Monitor gauges, meters, and SCADA systems to ensure proper equipment performance
• Operate generators, boilers, turbines, pumps, compressors, and other auxiliary equipment
• Perform inspections, routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs
• Record operational data and maintain accurate logs
• Assist with substation maintenance and switching operations (69kV/12kV)
• Respond to outages, emergency call-outs, and after-hours utility dispatch
• Support plant security, grounds upkeep, and general safety compliance

⚫ Required Skills & Qualifications
• Strong mechanical aptitude and equipment operation skills
• Ability to diagnose issues and respond calmly in emergencies
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Familiarity with maintenance practices and SCADA systems (preferred)
• Willingness to work night shifts, rotating shifts, and call-outs
