We're excited to share that WMU is the Iowa recipient of the "Cat in the Pack" Backpack Build joining 49 other classroom teachers across the country--one from every state! This event is sponsored by First Book in partnership with Dr. Seuss Enterprises and Random House Children’s Books.
Every WMU Preschool and Kindergarten will receive a backpack packed with one or both of the Dr. Seuss books "Sing the 50 United States!", "The Cat in the Hat"; a Dr. Seuss Activity Book, and essential school supplies for the 2026 back-to-school season.
Mrs. Pogmore applied to win this fun opportunity for WMU students way back at the end of the 25-26 school year, and was excited to learn that WMU was the lucky school! What a great way to spend a holiday weekend--with new books to read!
Mrs. Pogmore's 6th Grade Advisory Group helped pack them with the books and supplies, and Hanna Zambrano-Ruiz helped to pass them out.
