Students. 💛 Every day you show up, you’re writing your own story here at Windsor Middle School. Attendance matters, and we miss you when you’re gone, so don’t miss out on the pages you’d be leaving blank.

At WMS our teachers and students work together every day. Teachers meet kids where they’re at, and kids show up and do their best in whatever way that looks like for them.

Parents, you should know how much your kids’ teachers are working behind the scenes. Did you know every Wednesday, teachers come together to collaborate, connect with each other, and constantly try new, innovative ideas to reach students. At WMS it’s about everyone showing up to do their part, and that includes all the additional staff who help make Windsor Middle School run every day.

💛🖤That energy carries right into our September calendar. 🤩September 11 is our first school dance! Don’t miss out. There will be a game room, a DJ, snacks, and lots of fun things happening, including a rock paper scissors challenge with prizes for the winners.

Tickets are available online, or bring $20 into the office to buy one. A signed permission slip is required, so sign it online or grab a paper copy in the school office.

Also on the calendar-did you know WMS has after school programs, Saturday school availability, clubs and sports, with so many cool things happening there’s a place for everyone to be their best at WMS!

Estudiantes. 💛 Cada día que vienes, estás escribiendo tu propia historia aquí en Windsor Middle School. La asistencia importa, y te extrañamos cuando no vienes, así que no te pierdas las páginas que dejarías en blanco.

En WMS, nuestros maestros y estudiantes trabajan juntos todos los días. Los maestros apoyan a los estudiantes donde están, y los estudiantes vienen y dan lo mejor de sí, sea cual sea la forma que eso tome.

💛🖤 Esa energía sigue directo hacia nuestro calendario de septiembre. 🤩 ¡El 11 de septiembre es nuestro primer baile escolar! No te lo pierdas. Habrá un salón de juegos, un DJ, bocadillos, y muchas cosas divertidas, incluyendo un reto de piedra, papel o tijeras con premios para los ganadores.

Los boletos están disponibles en línea, o trae $20 a la oficina para comprar uno. Se requiere un permiso firmado, así que fírmalo en línea o recoge una copia en papel en la oficina de la escuela.

También en el calendario, ¿sabían que WMS tiene programas después de clases, disponibilidad de escuela los sábados, clubes y deportes, con tantas cosas interesantes pasando? ¡Hay un lugar para que todos den lo mejor de sí en WMS!

Last week, Windsor Middle School took it back to the 90s for Spirit Week, celebrating a time before cell phones were part of our everyday lives.

It was the perfect way to kick off and highlight our new phone policy at WMS. With phones put away in backpacks throughout the school day, we’re seeing more conversations, more connections, and students being more present with one another.

And parents, while students are unplugging during the school day, make sure you’re staying connected through ParentSquare. We have a lot coming up, including events, tryouts, games, important updates, and information from teachers.

Keep checking ParentSquare so you don’t miss what’s happening at Windsor Middle School. There’s always something going on at WMS!

La semana pasada, Windsor Middle School regresó a los años 90 para celebrar nuestra Semana del Espíritu Escolar, recordando una época antes de que los teléfonos celulares fueran parte de nuestra vida diaria.

Fue la manera perfecta de dar inicio y destacar nuestra nueva política de teléfonos en WMS. Ahora que los teléfonos permanecen guardados en las mochilas durante todo el día escolar, estamos viendo más conversaciones, más conexiones y estudiantes más presentes unos con otros.

Wear a rhyming outfit — no theme needed, just make it rhyme.

Wednesday – Throwback Day
Take it back to the 90s and 2000s.

Thursday – Jaguar Pride
Rep your school colors — yellow/gold, black and white, or jaguar print.

Friday – Tropical/Tacky Tourist Day
Think sunglasses, camera, shorts, and flip-flops. Music on the field this afternoon, plus prizes for the most spirited students — go all out!

Lunes – Día de la Foto / Mi Favorito
Vístanse con su outfit favorito y estén listos para la cámara.

Back to School Night – Wednesday, August 19 at 6:00 PM

We are excited to welcome you to our Back to School Night on Wednesday, August 19 at 6:00 PM!

The evening will begin in the gym, where Principal Beall and Assistant Principal Bryant will welcome families and provide a brief introduction to the upcoming school year.

After the introduction, parents will leave the gym and follow their student’s bell schedule. You will visit each of your student’s classes and have an opportunity to meet their teachers and learn about what students can expect this year.

We look forward to seeing you and kicking off a great school year together!

Some places just stay with you.

WMS is one of those places. What happens here goes beyond classrooms and schedules. It’s the connections. The inside jokes. The moments you did not even know you were going to remember. The friendships between students, between staff, between people who started as strangers and became something more.

To our 8th graders and to Ms. West: you are taking a piece of this place with you. And we are keeping a piece of you too. That is how this works.

Lifelong friends. Lifelong memories. That is WMS.

Hay lugares que simplemente se quedan contigo.

WMS es uno de esos lugares. Lo que pasa aquí va más allá de salones de clase y horarios. Son las conexiones. Los chistes internos. Los momentos que ni siquiera sabías que ibas a recordar. Las amistades entre estudiantes, entre personal, entre personas que empezaron como extraños y se convirtieron en algo más.

A nuestros estudiantes de 8vo grado y a la Sra. West: se llevan un pedacito de este lugar con ustedes. Y nosotros nos quedamos con un pedacito de ustedes también. Así es como funciona esto.

Who are you rooting for!?

WMS students—see you at lunch to watch teachers vs students futbol/soccer matchup!

Quick recap- teachers won the last game against kids for basketball, but we’re not so sure about this matchup. They say an average game players will run 6 miles, and need to move fast with minimal breaks because the bench is limited. Students are fast and experts at dodging teachers. Their clever coaching and limitless bench might give students an extra edge.

But will the teachers bring in a ringer? Come find out at lunch. (Rules—no eating outside, no messes, keep it chill and keep it fun. Don’t forget to rep your favorite soccer team!
