THIS IS THE OFFICIAL AGENCY PAGE FOR THE ISLE OF WIGHT COUNTY ANIMAL SERVICES. THE SHELTER IS MANAGED AND OPERATED BY THE ISLE OF WIGHT COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE. We have dogs and cats of all ages and breeds/mixes available for adoption. Adoptions fees are: $90 for dogs, $75-$95 for cats, and $25 for all other companion animals. The adoption fee covers spay/neuter, vaccines and rabies, along with heartworm testing for dogs. Our adoptable animals can viewed on our Petfinder Page:

🐾Meet Boone!

This handsome guy is waiting Isle of Wight County Animal Services for his forever family! 🐕

He enjoyed time in the sun with our volunteers this afternoon!

He may take a minute to warm up, but after a while, he was taking treats and searching for them in the play set

Boone could use a little training on leash, but he was much better going in, once he got out his sillies!

In honor of National Teddy Bear Day we’d like to introduce you to Duke 🧸

At just 2 years old, this big handsome guy is proof that sometimes the biggest dogs have the biggest hearts.

He may be a big guy, but he’s super gentle and sweet. He already knows sit and shake, and he’s always ready to show off those manners for a tasty treat!

🚨 URGENT FOSTER NEEDED FOR SKUNK! 🚨

Our kennels are full, and Skunk is becoming overwhelmed by the stressful environment. He is only 1 year old, and has lived in a home before—he just needs someone willing to give him patience, structure, and a little training.

Skunk is extremely food motivated, which makes training much easier! A foster home would give him the quiet space he needs to decompress and show everyone what a wonderful dog he can be. 🐾

IOWCAS is always looking for more dog walkers! 🐕‍🦺

Volunteers can walk dogs daily from 8am to 3:30pm (open to the public 11:30am to 3:30pm)

Walk dogs on site or take them on a field trip, aka a Doggie Day Out!

What is better than one kitten ? TWO kittens ! Big Rig (orange and white male) and Wheelie (tabby female) are 2 months old and waiting for their forever home(s) . Both siblings are litter box trained and understand which furniture is for scratching . They are the perfect mix of cuddly and playful . They love to climb and play but also love to be held like babies and have the sweetest, loudest purrs . Please message us if you want like to meet Big Rig and/or Wheelie. 🧡💛

Meet She-Ra!

This sweet girl is looking for her forever family!

Please refrain from the "give her a cheeseburger" comments, we have!

As you can see, She-Ra didn't come to us in great shape. She needs small meals throughout the day to gradually gain weight

She would benefit from a foster or adoptive home to maintain a consistent feeding schedule
