STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT SOMERSET COUNTY THROUGH 1000 PM EDT
Special Weather Statement issued June 6 at 9:07PM EDT by NWS State College PA
At 907 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 11 miles southwest of Somerset to Connellsville
to near Gastonville. Movement was east at 45 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Somerset, Meyersdale, Berlin, Friedens, Boswell, Central City,
Acosta, Ursina, New Centerville, Mount Davis, Rockwood, Confluence,
Jennerstown, Hooversville, Garrett, Indian Lake, Stoystown,
Shanksville, New Baltimore, and Casselman.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Persons in campgrounds should consider seeking sturdy shelter until
these storms pass.
