🚗 Child Passenger Safety Week 🚗

Every trip—whether it’s across town or across the country—starts with keeping children safe in the car. 💙

This week is a great reminder to:

✅ Make sure children are in the right car seat or booster seat for their age and size
✅ Check that car seats are installed correctly
✅ Keep children safely buckled on every ride, every time
✅ Remember that children are safest in the back seat whenever possible

Taking a few extra moments to check can make a big difference. Let’s work together to keep our little passengers safe! 🧡

💛 World Su***de Prevention Day 💛

Today, we pause to remind one another that connection, compassion, and hope can make a difference.

Check in on the people you care about. Ask how they’re really doing. Listen without judgment. Reach out when someone may need support—and remember that it’s okay to ask for help yourself.

Sometimes, a simple “I’m here for you” can mean more than we realize. 💙

If you or someone you know is in immediate crisis, call or text 988 to reach the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.

🧰 September is National Preparedness Month! 🧰

Emergencies can happen when we least expect them, but a little preparation can help families feel more confident and ready to respond. 💙

This month, take a few simple steps to prepare your family:

✅ Create an emergency plan and make sure everyone knows what to do
📞 Choose an out-of-town contact person
🎒 Pack an emergency kit with essentials like water, food, medications, flashlights, and batteries
📄 Keep important documents in a safe, easy-to-access place
🐾 Don’t forget to include a plan for your pets!

Preparedness doesn’t have to happen all at once—small steps today can make a big difference tomorrow.

How is your family getting prepared? 🧡

🍎 September is Hunger Action Month! 🍎

Every child deserves to have access to healthy, nourishing food. During Hunger Action Month, we’re reminded that food insecurity can affect families in every community—and that even small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference. 💙

This month, consider taking action by donating to a local food pantry, supporting a community food drive, or simply checking in on a neighbor or family who may need a little extra support.

Together, we can help build stronger communities where children and families have what they need to thrive. 🧡

🧡 National Childhood Injury Prevention Week 🧡

Children are curious, active, and always exploring the world around them! This week is a great reminder that many childhood injuries can be prevented with a few simple safety steps. 🚲🪖

From buckling up in the car and wearing helmets while biking to safely storing medications and keeping a close eye on little ones around water, small precautions can make a big difference.

Let’s work together to help children grow, play, and explore safely! 💙

💙 FAQ: Am I Too Old to Become a Foster Parent? 💙

One question we often hear from people interested in fostering is: “Am I too old to become a foster parent?”

The answer? Not necessarily! Many older adults make incredible foster parents and bring valuable life experience, patience, stability, and compassion to children who need a safe and supportive home.

Foster parenting isn’t about age—it’s about your ability to provide:
✨ A safe and nurturing environment
✨ Patience, understanding, and consistency
✨ A willingness to learn and work as part of a team
✨ Support for a child’s needs and relationships

Whether you are an empty nester, retired, or simply have always wanted to make a difference in a child’s life, you may have exactly what a child needs.
