๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ’› Happy National Childrenโ€™s Day! ๐Ÿ’›๐ŸŽ‰

Today we celebrate children--their joy, curiosity, resilience, and the unique light they bring into the world.

Every child deserves to feel safe, loved, and supported as they grow. At Foster Families of the Northern Shenandoah Valley, we are grateful for the foster and kinship families, caregivers, and community partners who help create stable, nurturing environments where children can thrive.

Letโ€™s celebrate children everywhere and recommit to building a world where every child feels valued and supported--not just today, but every day. ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ’›

๐ŸŒŠโ˜€๏ธ Water Safety Reminder โ˜€๏ธ๐ŸŒŠ

As summer temperatures rise, many families are heading to the pool for a break from the heat. While you're splashing around, please remember:

๐Ÿ’™ Never leave children unattended near waterโ€”even for a moment
๐Ÿ’™ Always designate a responsible adult as a โ€œwater watcherโ€
๐Ÿ’™ Don't rely on floatation devices for child safety
๐Ÿ’™ Teach children basic water safety rules early and reinforce them often
๐Ÿ’™ Stay within armโ€™s reach of younger children in or near water

Drowning can happen quickly and quietly, so constant supervision is key to keeping children safe.

At Foster Families of the Northern Shenandoah Valley, we encourage all caregivers to enjoy summer safely and confidently!

๐Ÿ’œ June is Family Reunification Month in Virginia! ๐Ÿ’œ

This month, we celebrate the strength and resilience of families working toward reunification and recognize the important role foster families play in that journey.

Foster parents provide safe, supportive homes for children while their parents and families work to overcome challenges and build the foundation for a successful reunification. By supporting children through times of transition, foster families help make family reunification possible.

At Foster Families of the Northern Shenandoah Valley, we honor the commitment of birth families, foster families, and the professionals who work together to help children safely return home whenever possible.
