🌊🌲 Natural Water Safety Reminder 🌲🌊

Oceans, lakes, rivers, and streams can be great places to enjoy time together in the summer—but they also come with hidden risks.

As families head outdoors, please keep these safety tips in mind:

💙 Always supervise children closely—natural water can be unpredictable
💙 Be aware of strong currents, sudden drop-offs, and slippery rocks or banks
💙 Life jackets are essential for swimming, boating, or playing near open water
💙 Avoid alcohol or distractions when responsible for watching children
💙 Stay in designated swimming areas whenever possible

Unlike pools, natural bodies of water often have no lifeguards and can change quickly with weather and conditions.

At Foster Families of the Northern Shenandoah Valley, we encourage all caregivers to prioritize safety while enjoying the beauty of the outdoors this summer. 🌞

🌊☀️ Water Safety Reminder ☀️🌊

As summer temperatures rise, many families are heading to the pool for a break from the heat. While you're splashing around, please remember:

💙 Never leave children unattended near water—even for a moment
💙 Always designate a responsible adult as a “water watcher”
💙 Don't rely on floatation devices for child safety
💙 Teach children basic water safety rules early and reinforce them often
💙 Stay within arm’s reach of younger children in or near water

Drowning can happen quickly and quietly, so constant supervision is key to keeping children safe.

At Foster Families of the Northern Shenandoah Valley, we encourage all caregivers to enjoy summer safely and confidently!
