Due to extreme temperatures today June 14th from 12:00pm to 8:00pm, TVA along with Wi******er Utility System is asking for Voluntary Load reduction from their customers. This reduction can be from turning off all unused electronics devices and equipment. Keep blinds/curtains closed on sunny side of your home and raise thermostat by at least 2 degrees if possible.
These steps can help prevent unnecessary overloads on the system, that can result larger problems, but can also help reduce on your electric usage as well. Based on current projections, it is likely that these actions will be requested daily for the remainder of this week. We will keep customers posted of any request or changes.

Setting an all-time record for June power demand, Monday's peak system load was 31,311 megawatts at 6:00 PM ET at a regional average temp of 94°. The previous record for June was 31,098 MW on June 29, 2012.

Due to extreme temperatures today June 13th from 2:00 pm to 5:00pm, TVA along with Wi******er Utility System is asking for Voluntary Load reduction from their customers.
