​In a cardiac emergency, every single second counts. Hands-Only CPR and knowing how to use an Automated External Detector (AED) can double—or even triple—a person's chance of survival.
​Take a look at this quick guide from Broadview Fire & Dept. to refresh your knowledge on the vital steps:
1️⃣ Check for responsiveness.
2️⃣ Call 911 immediately.
3️⃣ Push hard and fast (100-120 compressions per minute).
4️⃣ Use an AED as soon as it's available.

In the field, we’re three distinct teams, but we’re united by a single goal: keeping our community safe.

When we answer the call, we know we’re not alone. Our police officers ensure our scene is secure so we can focus on firefighting and rescue. And the incredible EMS teams are right there with us, providing critical medical care the moment it’s safe to do so.
