Earlier today, the Missoula Police Department received information regarding the possible presence of a fugitive in the Missoula area. The individual, identified as 31-year-old Jesse Lewis, had an outstanding warrant for deliberate homicide issued by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office in Kentucky.

With updated information regarding his location, law enforcement responded to the 2200 block of Mullan Road. Due to the severity of the circumstances and the nature of the charges, the Missoula Police Department deployed the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team. A shelter-in-place advisory was issued for the immediate area out of an abundance of caution.

Following a coordinated operation, Mr. Lewis was taken into custody without incident. The shelter-in-place was lifted shortly after the arrest.

There is no ongoing threat to the public, and the Missoula Police Department is working closely with out-of-state authorities regarding the extradition process.

We appreciate the public’s cooperation.

The Clark Co. Constable’s Office would like to remind travelers to exercise caution while traveling our county roadways. Water is estimated to still be on the rise through Tuesday even though the rain will be ending.

⚠️: Roads become slippery when wet - always proceed with caution while driving.
⚠️: Reduce your speed while driving on wet surfaces to avoid potential accidents or loss of control of a vehicle.

🚧: It's not safe to drive through floodwater. Swift moving water is powerful and can sweep away vehicles. Additionally still water can float a vehicle.
🚧: Water up to a car’s hub caps - is enough to move a car off of the roadway.

🚨: Use extra caution near rivers, streams, creeks and bridges. Areas near the KY River will be shutdown due to high water and Old Boonesboro Rd. near Casa Landa. Please turn around and don’t drown.
