Scholarships in Dance, Music & Theatre: Vivian Christy Sansoni Awards

The Vivian Christy Sansoni Award provides scholarships during one academic year for extracurricular lessons in the performing arts held at the Shenandoah Conservatory Arts Academy (SCAA). SCAA offers class instruction in dance, music, theatre, and fencing .
Funds are awarded to WPS students in grades K-12 who show promise/passion in the arts.
The intent of this award is to provide assistance to students with financial need who otherwise would not have the opportunity for extracurricular study in the arts.
Those selected will receive full or partial tuition assistance for arts instruction at SCAA.

Please complete the application and return to SCAA by September 30, 2026, including a recommendation from a community member or teacher.

The City of Wi******er VA - Local Government and Wi******er Public Schools are hosting four Town Halls to help residents learn about the One for Schools local sales tax referendum that will appear on the November ballot (and during early voting).

Huge congratulations to John Handley High School senior Christiana Ekoue on her prestigious appointment to the Virginia Student Advisory Board! 🙌

Chosen by Governor Abigail Spanberger to represent our entire Northern Virginia Region, Christiana is one of only eight high school seniors state-wide selected for this one-year term. She will work directly with the Virginia Department of Education and the Governor, researching key educational issues and presenting direct policy recommendations to shape the future of Virginia schools.

We are so proud to have Christiana representing Northern Virginia and Wi******er Public Schools at the highest level in Richmond.

John Handley High School senior Elizabeth Cesnik gained hands on experience in an immersive art program for three weeks this summer! While attending Summer Residential Governor's School at Radford University, Elizabeth worked on group art projects, critiqued artwork, and learned valuable information from multiple professors. Way to go, Elizabeth!
