Trail of Tears Memorial Walk in Pulaski on November 6.

The two detachments that came through Pulaski Tennessee on October 23 And November 2, 1838 will be honored During Native American Heritage month in a commemorative reenactment walk on November 6, 2021.
Meeting and beginning at the Trail of Tears Memorial 9:00am, walkers will be making their way along the trail from Pleasant Run park to Depot Street walking the trail of tears mapped by the National Park Service that Both the Benge and Bell detachments traveled to cross Richland Creek at the only location in Pulaski that you could actually cross the creek in 1838.
The Stones from the original bridge abutment which are embedded in the bank of the Richland creek remain today and can be seen from the “overlook” deck constructed for viewing this part of the original trail.
Everyone is welcome to join in the walk.
Though the Interpretive center is handicapped accessible and the trail is mostly concrete side walk, there are some uphill parts on Depot St during the walk, but if you are unable to walk with us due to health or handicap you may drive to the overlook by road to view it.
Period dress is welcomed, but not required. The walk should take approx 45 min round trip.
