159 years ago today these fields were swarming with soldiers as the Third Battle of Wi******er began. Which would become the largest and costliest Battle ever fought in the Shenandoah Valley. You can come and walk these hollowed grounds, learn and reflect on the ultimate sacrifice that was made here on September 19th, 1864.

The James R. Wilkins Wi******er Battlefields Visitor Center is open today on the Battle anniversary from 10am-4pm.
