Thursday, June 11
1:00pm Story Time - This week’s title is “Ant Cities” written and illustrated by Arthur Dorris. This is a short children’s story. Bring a blanket to sit in the shady grass behind the Nature Center. 30 minutes.
3:00pm Family Camp Scavenger Hunt: Get “The List”! The first Family or group back to the Nature Center with pictures of everything on the list wins first pick of the prizes. Nature Center, 1 hour.
6:00pm Fire Tower Chat: Have you ever wondered when or why the fire tower was built here at Tippecanoe River? Come for a short chat about the tower, then a short hike to the tower, where you can climb to the tallest outlook in the area!!!! Bulletin board at the fire tower parking lot, 45 minutes.
Friday, June 12
1:00pm Door Mat Craft: Let’s make the world a better place and our doorstep an eye catching design statement. NC, 1 hour
3:00pm Camp Craft Food Planning, storage, & disposal: Taking a big group on a camping trip, over a long weekend? Do you know how much food to take, how to store it, where to put it when you’re done? For the answers to these questions and so many more, come to the NC, 1 hour.
6:00pm Banana Boats: Get the Scoop on Saturday’s events and a delightful fruity treat at the same time! Community Fire Ring in Electric Campground, 1 hour.
Saturday, June 13
1:00pm River Otters: Find out all the naturalist knows about these fun energetic creatures. Nature Center, 30 minutes
3:00pm Walking Stick Program: Learn how to create your own walking stick with our Naturalist. For a $5 donation to our friends group, for decorations, the Naturalist will provide safety tips & decorations. The sticks were donated by the Winamac Fish & Wildlife Area. Nature Center, 1 hour.
