Important information regarding the installation of additional transmission wires on the Reynolds-Topeka transmission towers intersection the middle of Pulaski County:

A Message from NIPSCO:

"Quanta Companies, MJ Electric (MJE), and PJ Helicopters (PJ) will be performing work to install a new electric transmission line in the area.

This project will utilize existing transmission structures, with an additional circuit installed on those structures. To minimize ground disturbance and reduce impacts to surrounding land, a helicopter will be used to complete the majority of the work.

Construction activities will include helicopter-assisted installation of the second circuit. Wire-pulling equipment will be set up at designated locations on the ground, while crews utilize helicopters to pull in the new conductor. Once installed, crews will continue working from the helicopter to secure the wire into its final position on the transmission structure arms.

During helicopter operations, appropriate road signage and traffic control measures will be in place at road crossings to ensure public safety while helicopters are operating overhead.

MJE and PJ Helicopters will work closely with the local utility company, its land agents, and contractors to clearly communicate work in advance. Any potential impacts to nearby residents, landowners, and the traveling public will be discussed and mitigated to the extent possible. "

It’s one of Exec. Dir. NPO’s favorite days of the year (a day late because his pickup truck gave up the ghost, and he had to borrow his dad’s): trash cans are going out at Indiana Department of Natural Resources public-access points on the Tippecanoe so that we can keep our river cleaner during the busy tourism season.

Our great local volunteers will be emptying these regularly throughout the summer; thank them if you see them doing it and help to keep the Tippy sparkling by making sure your trash lands in one of these and not downstream or at the bottom.
