Wilton Manors was laid out in 1925 by Edward John “Ned” Willingham, a land developer from Georgia, as an upscale residential community. It was recognized as a Village in 1947 and incorporated as a City in 1953. Today, the City of Wilton Manors offers all the benefits of a big city from shopping, to hip restaurants and bars, a burgeoning arts community and tons of community events, yet still maintains a cozy, community-feeling offering miles of natural waterways perfect for kayaking, paddle boarding and other outdoor activities. WATER MAIN BREAK UPDATE:

Repairs to the water main near Coral Gardens Drive and NE 27th Street have been completed, and water service has been restored to the 12 affected homes.

Crews will continue cleanup and restoration activities in the affected area. A roadway detour has been established at the repair site. Drivers should use caution around the work zone.

It’s voting season, Island City! Before you cast your ballot in this year's General Election, review these important dates and details to stay informed and prepared:
- The deadline to register to vote is Monday, October 5, 2026.
- The deadline to request a Vote-by-Mail ballot is Thursday, October 22, 2026, by 5 p.m.
- Vote-by-Mail ballots will be mailed to residents between Thursday, September 24, and Thursday, October 1, 2026.
