WHRFD was called for mutual aid at 22:53 to a grass fire 6 miles south of Holbrook. We had 3 type 6 engines a tactical tanker and a tanker respond with 11 firefighters to helped extinguish the fire along side HEA, Cambridge and Beaver City. Our trucks returned to station at 01:30 from scene!!

We also have a type 6 engine back up at the Pressey running a 12 hr shift with 2 firefighters along side the South Central Wildland Taskforce

At 16:30 WHRFD was paged for mutual aid for a fast moving grass fire south of Norton we responded with 2 trucks and 6 man power for mutual aid to extinguish the potential extension of fire!

With this said and the on going fire hazard we reiterated there are no burn permits and no open flame fire in our district. We request everyone be vigilant and smart about what they are doing.

We appreciate the support of our community and or dept for the man power and resources that go in to this all crew members were back in service at 18:50

We had a great turnout for our 2nd annual hamburger feed fundraiser after the Easter egg hunt. Thank you everyone coming out for some great conversations and for your donations to help with equipment and gear. We hope everyone enjoys their time with family on this weekend!!

With the governor lifting the burn ban WHRFD will not be issuing any until it greens up! We think it’s still to early and we are still to dry! No permit will be issued until we feel its better conditions!
