Working with chemicals that can fatally harm you and everyone near should indicate a higher level of protection. Level A suits are fully encapsulating, gas-tight suits designed to protect firefighters from toxic or corrosive gases, liquids, and solid chemicals. The suits may look like fun, but they get really hot and very....... damp inside! Wearing these suits is challenging, but a vital part of the job. Crews are specially fitted to make sure visibility and dexterity aren't compromised while working an incident. (9-volt batteries should not be stored loose in a drawer.
