Good evening, Daniels Eagles,
This is Samantha Charles-Dixon, Principal of Daniels Learning Center, calling with this week's announcements.

Tomorrow, September 7th, is Labor Day, and there will be no school for students and staff. School will resume on Tuesday.

As promised, we will be having our first “Tips and Tea with Principal D and Counselor B” on September 15th at 12:30 or 6:00 pm. This will allow you to choose which time is convenient for you. During this session, we will work with families to learn how to navigate Infinite Campus and Google Classroom so that you can monitor your student's progress. More information about this event will be on our school’s page.

Our first assessments will be during the week of September 13th. Please encourage your student to do their very best. The data from this assessment will help us assign groups for our ELA and Math tutoring opportunities during the school day. It will also help us determine what skills need to be retaught to ensure our students score a 70 or higher on their final assessment to be boosted.

My last announcement is that students are expected to follow the Wilson County School’s dress code policy. If our young ladies and gentlemen have rips above the knee in their jeans, they need to make sure they have tights, leggings, or shorts underneath to cover the skin above their fingertips, and their shirts should cover their bellies and backs.

Good evening, Daniels Eagles,

This is Samantha Charles-Dixon, Principal of Daniels Learning Center, calling with this week's announcements. We’d like to thank our students and families for a great first week back to school.

This is a reminder that bus 175 will not run on Monday afternoon. A sub will run; however, it will not pick students up until around 4:30 pm. You may want to provide alternative transportation for your student on Monday afternoon.

You are reminded that students may be dropped off at 7:15 am and class will begin promptly at 7:30 am. Dismissal will begin at 2:25 pm. Parents, please refrain from coming into the building to check students out at 2:00 pm. Now that our students are accustomed to their bus numbers, dismissal moves a lot quicker. Thank you for your patience!

Also, to help with arrival and dismissal, parents, please use the left lane so that our buses can arrive and depart on time and safely.

Parents and students, please download the Here Comes My App. This will provide you in real time when the bus will arrive at your child's stop on a day-to-day basis. The code for Wilson County is 13509, and you will need your student's ID number, which is their lunch number. Your student should know this number by heart. You can find more information about the Here Comes My Bus App on our page and on the Wilson County Schools Transportation Website.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE!!

This is an important bus announcement for students who ride the bus 175 in the afternoon.

On August 27, 28, and 31, bus 175 will not run in the afternoon, and a late bus will run in its place. A substitute bus driver won't pick the students up from Daniels until 3:45 PM to run a late route. You may want to provide transportation for your student on these dates.

We do apologize for the inconvenience; however, we wanted to remind you about this change.

Here Comes the Bus is a free, school bus tracking app that gives families real-time bus location information and alerts to get students to the bus stop on time.

Steps for downloading the app:
1. DOWNLOAD THE APP
Search “Here Comes The Bus” in the App Store or Google Play Store.

2. ADD YOUR STUDENT
Add your student using their UID number found in Infinite Campus.

3. FIND THEIR BUS ON THE MAP
See your student’s bus location in real-time and know when it’s arriving. (Once bus routes are available).

Good evening, Daniels Eagles,

This is Samantha Charles-Dixon, Principal of Daniels Learning Center, calling with this week's announcements. Tomorrow, August 24th, is the first day of the 2026-2027 school year, and we are so excited to work with you and your students this year to help them “Grow and Fly”.

You are reminded that students may be dropped off at 7:15 am and class will begin promptly at 7:30 am. Dismissal will start at 2:25 pm.

As students enter the building, they will be required to check in with our staff, submit their phones, and follow our safety protocols. Students should carry clear bookbags only. Purses and other unauthorized items will remain in the front office until the end of the day. Family, please keep in mind that students are expected to follow the Wilson County School’s dress code policy.

Students who ride the bus should report to their designated bus stop 10 to 15 minutes prior to their scheduled departure time and follow the instructions of their bus driver to ensure everyone’s safety. If you updated your address or requested a bus assignment at Open House, our transportation department is still working on getting students assigned to buses for the entire district. You may have to provide transportation for your students for the first few days of school. Updated bus routes are posted on our school’s page.

Today, our morning routes were split across two buses, so some students' bus numbers and pickup/drop-off times have changed. Please see the attached bus list to see how this may impact your student. This was done to alleviate the students having to be on the bus for two hours in the morning.

If you requested a bus change at Open House, the transportation department is working hard to fulfill your request. Please continue to check this document for updated route information.

A substitute bus driver won't pick the students up from Daniels until 3:45 PM to run a late route. You may want to provide transportation for your student on these dates. The bus will be running as scheduled for the morning route.

This is Samantha Charles-Dixon, Principal of Daniels Learning Center, calling with this week’s announcements. Tuesday, August 18, we will host an Open House for our incoming Eagles from 5:00-6:30 pm. The open house will begin with a brief meeting in the cafeteria, immediately followed by information distribution and a chance to meet the teachers. Next week, August 24th will be the first day of school. Students may be dropped off no earlier than 7:15 am and class will begin promptly at 7:30 am. Dismissal will begin at 2:25 pm.
