Hi Wilmore friends! Summer Rec. (day camp) started today and will run Mondays - Fridays until the end of July. Please do not drive to the BACK of the Wilmore Municipal Center prior to 5:30pm unless you are dropping off/picking up campers. For all other needs (JCPL+, lunches, pickleball, etc.) please use the side parking lot. We have campers having fun and transitioning between outside spaces and inside spaces across the drive all day long. Thanks for your help!!

Splash Pad update: The rainy weeks set the project back, of course, but work is happening fast to get caught up. One more big concrete pour on Wednesday to come! Then let the concrete cure, set the spray features on top and have the state inspection. I hesitate to speculate, but I hope we can be open by June 13th! Thanks for your patience and can't wait to see happy faces on the splash pad!

Happy to be a Tree City USA!

The Kentucky Division of Forestry recently presented the Tree City USA flag to members of Trees Wilmore in recognition of the community's ongoing commitment to trees and community forestry. Under the leadership of Chair Howard Snyder, a long-time advocate for trees and community forestry, Trees Wilmore has become a strong voice for the many benefits trees provide to their community. This dedicated volunteer organization conducts multiple tree planting projects each year, promotes tree stewardship, and works to increase awareness of the value of a healthy community forest.
This recognition is also the result of a strong partnership between Trees Wilmore, City of Wilmore, Kentucky and Wilmore Parks & Recreation. Working together, these organizations continue to make Wilmore a greener, healthier, and more beautiful place to live.
Tree City USA is a free recognition program sponsored in Kentucky by the Kentucky Division of Forestry and the Arbor Day Foundation. Communities interested in learning more about becoming a Tree City USA community are encouraged to contact Jack Baggett of the Kentucky Division of Forestry at [email protected].
