From our friend, Trent Ellsworth, at Asbury University...

The Asbury University Center for Adventure Leadership is offering an overnight pack and paddle designed specifically for dad and child!!! We are offering this opportunity to seminary and university connected dads that have been looking to get outdoors with their child and just can’t seem to make it work.

What: This overnight canoe trip is designed as a bonding experience for the parent and child. Children must be between the ages of 6 and 12 years old. Everything will be provided for you including, gear, food, tents, ect. The guides will be setting up camp, cooking meals, and making a fire at the end of the day, giving you time to hang out and swim with your son or daughter.
When: DUE TO REQUESTS WE ARE MOVING THE DATE TO October 4th and 5th.
Where: Green River in Mammoth Cave National Park
How much: $200 per family

We are shooting for a very specific type of trip, we want this to be a time of relaxation and fun, a time where you can connect with your child without the stress of being home, but also without the stress of having to deal with all the normal camp chores. This is an all-inclusive, deluxe style trip. The food will be awesome, the times will be good, and you will not be able to replace the memories you could make with your child out in God’s creation. The trip will only run with 5 families (one child each), trust us, you want to check this trip out!

Different types of outings, different age groups, whole families etc. Also, keep in mind that we can put together a custom trip for your family or organization any time. IN the past weeks we have taken youth groups and families backpacking and rock climbing, high school students caving, and more people that we can count on single day and multi day canoe trips. We aren’t just here to serve Asbury University Students as an outing club, we want to let Asbury University Approved student trip leaders gain experience by taking you on a professional and high quality adventure!

The 10th Annual High Bridge Homecoming Festival will be held at High Bridge park (4 miles south of Wilmore) this Friday-Sunday.

As part of the festival, Dix River Adventures will be providing tours of the Kentucky and Dix Rivers Palisades. Three seats are currently open for the Friday evening 8pm tour, and several seats are available throughout the day on Saturday. Reservations can be made either by emailing [email protected], or by signing up at our booth at the festival. The cost for a one hour tour is $15 per person, or $50 for a party of four or more (max. 6).
