Meeting Roy Cooper for the second time was even better than the first! He remarked that as an attorney, he recognized the importance of an efficient and service focused Clerk’s Office. And we talked about the added value that an attorney brings to the role of Clerk of Court.
Future U.S. Senator Cooper believes in hard work, positive change and focusing on the hard working people that he will serve in public office. As your next Clerk of Superior Court, I will focus on those same things.
It was a beautiful and memorable night. Shout out to Betsy von Biberstein for hosting such a lovely event.

Y’all means all 🌈

I was proud to be part of this year’s Wilmington Pride Proclamation ceremony at City Hall. To live authentically and to show up in support of our loved ones is a tremendous privilege, and not one I take lightly. June is full of fun, bright events celebrating our LGBTQ+ family, friends, and neighbors because of brave people fighting for the rights of everyone to exist just as they are. While the work isn’t over, these joyful celebrations give us a glimpse into a future built for all of us.

As your next Clerk of Superior Court, I will ensure that our LGBTQ+ neighbors will always be treated equally and with respect, every day.

Good afternoon, friends! I’m on the mend but not yet completely on the go. I’m grateful for all the well-wishes I’ve received during my recovery, and I’m looking forward to being back with all of you soon.

Memorial Day is a time to pause and reflect on the brave men and women in uniform who gave everything for this great American experiment. As we approach our nation’s 250th birthday, it’s all the more important to recognize and honor all fallen servicemembers throughout America’s history.

I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone at this free, family-friendly event tomorrow! It'll be my last outing for a little while (thanks to hip surgery on Monday) so I really want to make it count! The day will be beautiful so drop by for a slice or two of pizza, a yard sign, and to say hi!

I have seen this graphic on social media a lot today. The majority party in our General Assembly seems very proud of these budget items. They should not be proud. They should be ashamed.

A 3% salary increase for our dedicated state employees is an absolute insult. After making them wait almost two years for a raise, 3% is all they can do for the public servants (including the thousands working for the NC Judicial Branch in our County Clerks’ Offices) that keep this state running?

State employees are paying attention and they vote! Big changes are on the way in November.

As your New Hanover County Clerk of Superior Court, part of my mission will be to advocate for professional wages for my overworked and underpaid team members.
