Over the past couple of weeks, our crews have been hard at work helping to prepare local cemeteries for Memorial Day. This morning, we wrapped up another cemetery before moving on to cut down w**ds at the intersection of Ogden and Halpin Road to improve visibility around the curve and help keep the area safer for motorists.

As Memorial Day approaches, we encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on the brave men and women who gave their lives defending our freedoms. Their sacrifice and service will never be forgotten, and we owe them a tremendous debt of gratitude.

Yesterday, our crews had the privilege of assisting with placing fresh flags on the graves service members. With Memorial Day quickly approaching, it serves as an important reminder that the freedoms we enjoy each day came at a tremendous cost.

We owe a lasting debt of gratitude to all who have served our country, especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our freedoms. It was an honor for our crews to play a small part in helping remember and honor these heroes. šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø

Sorry we’ve been a little quiet lately. We were only able to get one day in last week due to an out-of-town conference. Before we left, the crew did manage to squeeze in some trimming at Antioch Cemetery.

This week, though, we’ve been back at it the past two days. Yesterday morning we were in Blanchester assisting the Police Department with building a backstop for their range—adding another important layer of safety during training. We’re calling it ā€œThe Great Wall of Blanchester!!ā€ šŸ˜‚

After that, the crew headed over to help the Wilmington Service Garage, trimming around trees and signage along Rombach and David’s Drive.

Today, JACS was at the Jefferson Township Cemetery in Westboro, working hard to trim around all the headstones and keep the grounds looking respectful and well maintained.

As always, we’re proud of the work these crews are doing to give back to the community.

And don’t forget—if you haven’t already, get out and vote šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø

This week the JACS and Community Service crews were back in Sabina, continuing our efforts to give back and support the community.

We made great progress at the village pool—getting it freshly painted and one step closer to opening for the season. It’s a wonderful asset for the community, and we’re proud to play a small part in helping get it ready.

The crews also spent time inside the concession and restroom areas, cleaning and preparing everything for upcoming touch-up work.

A special thank you to Joan, a kind member of the community, who stopped by with fresh homemade cookies for the crews to enjoy throughout the day—your generosity did not go unnoticed. We’d also like to thank Amy for treating the crews to lunch at Briar’s Family Restaurant. The food was outstanding and very much appreciated!

We’re grateful for the opportunity to serve and be part of such a supportive community.

This week the JACS and Community Service crews were hard at work once again across the county.

We kicked things off in Centerville Cemetery in Wayne Township, helping with w**d eating to keep the grounds looking respectful and maintained. We also assisted at the Wilmington Service Garage, cleaning up the ends of Brooke Blvd where we even crossed paths with a friendly snapping turtle along the way.
From there, crews moved over to the old East End Elementary building for additional cleanup work before heading back to Blanchester on Wednesday. There, we continued removing honeysuckle and debris. If you’re in the area, stop by and take a look—Lindsay and her team have been putting in a tremendous amount of effort, and it shows. We also lent a hand to Wilmington Transit with some w**d eating.
To wrap up the week, crews focused on cleaning up US 68 South out of Wilmington, collecting 55 bags of trash along with numerous other pieces of debris from the roadway and ditches. We even received a visit from our own Sheriff’s Office after someone called us in for picking up trash šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Proud of the crew and the hard work they continue to put in week after week. It was a beautiful week to be outside, and we definitely made the most of it—tans and all!

It was a busy and productive week for the JACS and Community Service crews!

We started out in Clark Township working to remove excess gravel from a road project completed last fall. While it wasn’t possible to get it all, the crew put in a strong effort and made a noticeable difference.

From there, we spent time in Port William doing some w**d eating before heading to the Blanchester Cemetery, where work continues to clear brush and honeysuckle. Lindsey and Carla are doing outstanding work leading those efforts, and it’s great to see the progress being made to restore and clean up the grounds.

We also want to extend a big thank you to Russ and his crew for their assistance, as well as Chief Houghton of Blanchester for providing lunch for the workers. It was greatly appreciated!

To wrap up the week, a couple of our community service individuals volunteered their time helping at the Blanchester Food Bank.

Great teamwork all around and another week of making a positive impact in our community!

Strong communities are built on strong partnerships.

One of the things we take the most pride in with our JACS and Community Service crews is the level of teamwork and cooperation we see across our county every single day. Our local agencies, municipalities, and townships continue to show what can be accomplished when everyone works together toward a common goal.

Recently, we had the opportunity to assist a township project, and thanks to the willingness of a neighboring municipality, we were able to borrow specialized equipment to help get the job done. While it may not have been a perfect solution, it made a big difference and allowed us to complete the work more efficiently than we could have on our own.

This is a great example of how interagency cooperation benefits our entire community. Whether it’s sharing resources, lending a hand, or stepping up when needed, these partnerships help us serve our residents better every day.

We appreciate all of our partners across the county who continue to support one another. Together, we get the job done. šŸ’Ŗ

As his family, friends, and fellow service members prepare to lay him to rest tomorrow, we ask everyone in Clinton County and beyond to keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time. Captain Angst’s courage, dedication, and selfless service will never be forgotten.

On behalf of the Clinton County Municipal Court Community Service Program, we extend our deepest gratitude for his sacrifice and our heartfelt condolences to the Angst family.

May we always remember the true cost of freedom, and may God bless Captain Angst and those who loved him.

We invite members of the community to line the streets along the route to pay their respects and honor Captain Angst as he makes his final journey.

Today the Community Service crews were back in Blanchester assisting with cemetery cleanup efforts. Over time, several older plots had become completely overgrown with brush, honeysuckle, and briars, making them nearly impossible to locate.

After some hard work cutting and clearing our way in, we were able to uncover a very old grave belonging to a Union soldier from the Civil War who died in 1862. It took some effort to reach the site, but the crew was proud to be able to uncover it and show the respect a veteran deserves.

We didn’t get everything completed today, but we will continue working and assisting as much as possible to help preserve these historic graves and honor those who came before us.
