Wilmington Police Department, Vermont Green Mountain Power - West Main St (Vt Rt 9 West) Wilmington Project update.
Starting tomorrow- Tuesday 8/18 through Thursday 8/20 work on West Main St utility lines will transition from daytime work to night work 6PM-6AM. It is possible night work may have to continue Monday 8/24 and Tuesday 8/25 to complete the project.

Wilmington Police Department, Vermont Please be sure to use caution while traveling through the village on Vt Rt 9. West Main St will have utility work taking place Mon-Thur 7AM-5PM for the next three weeks, and sidewalk/sewer work continues on East Main St.

UPDATE as of 4:55 PM: Transfer is on time ETA to Wilmington Police Department, Vermont area is 7:00 PM - 7:30 PM.

Community members and guests the Wilmington Police Department, Vermont needs your assistance. The Wilmington Police Department was notified of the scheduled dignified transfer of a soldier returning home to rest in Vermont. Army Air Force Private First Class Bernard Sweet WWII, Silver Star recipient, POW who died in October 1942 in the Cabanatuan POW camp will be brought home to Bennington, VT. Tentative schedule puts the transfer traveling through (via Rt 9 westbound) Wilmington on Thursday, July 30, 2026 at approximately 7:30 - 8:00 PM. Wilmington Police Department will update this post when a more precise travel time is known, however it is likely that it will not be confirmed until PFC Sweet is en-route from Bradley Airport.
