Today we will highlight a few memorials associated with the 4th of July:
The 33rd US Infantry Division participated in the Australian led Battle of Hamel on July 4, 1918. Corporal Thomas Pope, 131st Infantry Regiment was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions that day. See our website for more on this battle:

Warrant Officer Patrick Chambers serving in the 432 Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force was Killed in Action on July 4, 1943, when the Wellington aircraft # HZ 481 he was piloting was shot down at St. Pound, Belgium. He is buried in Belgium:
