The Coast Guard has received a report of an overdue windsurfer and is actively searching in coordination with local partners. Mr. Jim Stoll was last seen at 3:00pm on Wednesday, 22Apr, in the vicinity of Clam Shoal in the Pamlico Sound approximately 3NM off Frisco, NC. He was windsurfing when his sail broke. He was wearing a black wet suit with a silver helmet, riding a vintage windsurf board. Please report any information or sightings to Sector North Carolina Command Center at (833) 732-8628.

Yesterday, Coast Guard Sector North Carolina received a report of a vessel aground with 105 passengers on board near Bald Head Island, North Carolina. Coast Guard personnel are monitoring the situation and conducting an investigation into the cause of the grounding. There were no reported injuries, and the channel remains open.

The U.S. Coast Guard MSD Fort Macon and Sector North Carolina Response and Prevention departments spearheaded a collaborative Multi-Agency Strike Force Operation on Thursday, in conjunction with partner agencies, to ensure compliance with federal regulations at a Maritime Transportation Security Act-regulated facility. 67 TWIC cards were inspected, and 75 vehicles were checked, including 26 Federal Motor Vehicle Carrier checks. 6 violations were issued. We are committed to ensuring safety within the maritime transportation system.

Last week, .S. Coast Guard Sector North Carolina partnered with the FBI, TSA, Customs and Border Protection and Brunswick County Sheriff’s Department for the annual Multi-Agency Strike Force Operation (MASFO), held at North Carolina State Port, Wilmington, North Carolina.

This event is designed to ensure the safe and legal transportation of cargo through the North Carolina State Port.
