Thank you Joliet Police Department for the best explanation we have seen!

Please be safe today everyone. Ensure you have a way to receive weather warnings and stay inside (NOT DRIVING TO MCDONALDS FOR A CRISPY Diet Coke) when the storms hit.

With the potential severe weather this week, the Joliet Police Department would again like to share this graphic clarifying the difference between a weather Watch & Warning. A Watch has the weather "ingredients" to produce the severe weather. A Warning means the severe weather is happening right now. Or more simply put in a Chicago-style way:

Watch 🟧: We have the ingredients to make hotdogs.
Warning 🟥: We're having hotdogs. Right now.
