What a Saturday!

The community came together at Greenfield Lake Skate Park to celebrate Go Skateboarding Day with skating, food, giveaways and an opportunity to honor the memory of Alec Chambers. A ceremony officially renaming the skate park in his honor will take place Aug. 22, and we look forward to continuing to celebrate his lasting impact on Wilmington's skateboarding community.

Meanwhile, the USA WheelHawks Rugby League Wheelchair Team returned to the MLK Community Center for another training session as they prepare to compete on the world stage this fall. If you missed Saturday's practice, you can still catch the team in action during weekly sessions at the MLK Community Center on Tuesdays from 6-7 p.m.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for a day of community and fun!
