🇺🇸 June is PTSD Awareness Month 🇺🇸
Not every wound from military service is visible.
For many veterans, the battle didn’t end when the deployment, mission, or uniform did. PTSD can show up in different ways — anxiety, anger, isolation, sleep issues, hypervigilance, depression, substance abuse, or simply feeling disconnected from the world around you.
And here’s the truth:
A lot of veterans spent years thinking they just needed to “suck it up” or drive on.
But asking for help is not weakness.
Never was.
At VFW Post 6710, we want veterans to know:
You are not alone.
There are people who understand.
And there is absolutely no shame in reaching out.
Sometimes the first step is as simple as:
☕ grabbing coffee with another veteran
🍺 stopping by the Post
📞 making one phone call
🗣️ finally talking about it
Check on your people this month.
Especially the ones saying “I’m fine.”
If you’re struggling, reach out to someone.
And if you know a veteran who’s been quiet lately… reach out first.
