The course is ready and so are we! Today is our 28th Golf Outing, and registration opens at 11:00 AM.

Come early, check in, and give yourself a little time to settle in before you head out to your hole.

Every golfer, sponsor and volunteer out here today is helping New Castle County families build strength and stability through affordable homeownership. That is what this day is really about, and we are grateful you showed up for it.

Forty years of Habitat work in New Castle County adds up to more than 1,200 families served, 330 homes constructed (and counting) , and more than 900 critical home repairs completed. Every one of those numbers came from neighbors who showed up. Tag someone who has spent a day on one of our build sites.

A starter home has modest square footage, an efficient layout, and a price that lets a first-time buyer get in and start building equity. Habitat NCC still builds them on purpose, at 1,000 to 1,200 square feet with two to four bedrooms and a 0% interest mortgage sized to what a family earns.

Our First-Time Homebuyer Seminar is Sunday, September 20, from 2:00 to 3:30 pm at the Rt 9 Library and Innovation Center in New Castle. Space is limited and pre-registration is required at habitatncc.org.

Youth, this one is yours. On Saturday, September 26, young people from across Wilmington are taking over the park at 22nd and Lamotte Street for Youth Rock the Block.

We start at 8:00 AM with a morning cleanup, and the rest of the morning belongs to games, jump rope competitions, a bouncy house, and a free meal. Community partners will be on site with resources for the whole family. We are hosting alongside Pastor Sandra Benson and Healthy Communities Delaware.
