REMINDER: TONIGHT!

We're back from North Carolina Republican Party State Convention and fired up for America's 250!

Joining us this evening is Donald Bryson, CEO + President of the John Locke Foundation and Publisher of the Carolina Journal.

Additionally, NHC Board of Elections member John Lyon will be explaining the board's decision regarding the hiring of the new Democrat Director so we urge ALL to attend.

TODAY, the NC House passed SB 280, the Dominique Moody Act.

The bill establishes a statewide Child Welfare Case Escalation Team to review high-risk child abuse and neglect cases.

This legislation comes in response to the unfathomable death of 6-year-old Dominique
Moody in late 2025.

Honestly, it's difficult to even type this but the solace lies in knowing that our legislators prioritized the matter and have taken action. For that, we are grateful.

🚨REMINDER! TONIGHT! 6:30 pm

This evening, Wilmington City Council will hold the second and final reading of the FY27 budget.

Amid rising costs, this latest budget proposal includes a 4.9-cent property tax rate increase. That's an approximate 17% jump--the largest in Wilmington history--and looks like ~$18 per month ($218+ annually) to the median $445k home. This will significantly burden homeowners, renters and businesses.

Also proposed is a "living wage"...FOR ALL. This would set a salary floor of $45,531 for all employees, be they first responders, housekeeping staff or recreation workers.

As former Councilman Luke Waddell, Sr. Former Councilman to City of Wilmington noted in his May op-ed for Greater Wilmington Business Journal, "...a $16.7 million blanket living wage increase for every city employee on the payroll...may be a worthy social goal. But it is not a public safety crisis response, and packaging it as one to justify the largest tax increase in the city's history is not straight dealing with the public."

NHCGOP Chairman John Hinnant will be addressing the City Council on these issues and we strongly encourage you to join us. We must show up to demand fiscal accountability and prioritization of core services over their version of "equitable expansion."

ELECTED: RNC Committeewoman, Felice Pete.

Felice Pete was elected RNC Committeewoman on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at the North Carolina Republican Party Executive Committee Meeting, State Convention, Greensboro, NC.

Nominated by Addul Ali, God-first Republican Felice Pete proceeded to bring the house down, followed by a standing ovation.

It was especially moving given Dakota Cook--North Carolina State Director for the Republican National Committee--had just delivered a firestorm, laying out, in no uncertain terms, the targeted, imminent threat of the Communist, Socialist and Radical Left Progressive agenda in the Old North State.

Raised on a farm in rural Eastern North Carolina, Felice Pete is known for her faith forward, high-octane-compassion fueled demeanor. She is a nurse anesthetist, specializing in open heart surgery. She prays with her patients before and during their surgery and connects with them afterwards.

Pete served as president of the Wake County Republican Women and her messaging strongly aligns with NCGOP leadership: heavily promote the "America First" agenda, focus on grassroots volunteer deployment, and advance Republican principles up and down the ballot. Additionally, her "Black Republican Identity" emphasizes political independence, placing values over representation. She has argued that African Americans "should not be beholden to one party 95% of the time" and frames her political stance around core Republican tenets: "I believe that the Republican Party is the party of freedom and liberty... It is the party of free markets and it is the party of free choices."

During her address, she joked about the value add of embracing a little petty readiness once in a while so we thought the nod was fitting.

We graciously thank Fern Shubert, as she too was on the ballot for the role. Fern has served North Carolina well and that dedication shall not go unacknowledged. Shubert served in the NC House from 1994 to 1998 and, again, from 2000 to 2002. She then transitioned to the NC State Senate from 2002 to 2004, where she served as the Republican whip.

Congrats, Committeewoman Pete. NC just got WIFED!

The transformation of our nation's capital has been magnificent to track. There's something very inspiring about the dedicated, focused vision the Trump Administration has for D.C.

In March 2025, President Trump issued Executive Order 14252, “Making the District of Columbia Safe and Beautiful.”

The Department of the Interior, led by Secretary Doug Burgum, plays a central role, working with the National Park Service (NPS) and other agencies.

The Beautification program includes a coordinated plan for federal parks, monuments, memorials, land, roadways, and facilities in/around D.C.

The restoration of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool was BIG part of the initiative under the Department of the Interior and National Park Service.

The pool was drained, power-washed, fumigated, joints were repaired/grouted, and the granite base received an industrial-grade waterproof coating (similar to swimming pool resurfacing, often described as “Rhino” coating). The final color was a deep “American flag blue” to enhance reflections and give a patriotic vibe.

Common Sense prevails!

The North Carolina Republican Party and Republican National Committee (RNC) prevailed in a critical lawsuit after a Wake County Superior Court reaffirmed a state law allowing Never Residents to vote was unconstitutional.

NCGOP Chairman Jason Simmons said of the decision:

"This ruling confirms the state constitution forbids voting by individuals who have never lived in North Carolina. The Court of Appeals and Supreme Court decisively ruled on this previously and the decision reaffirms the common-sense principle only North Carolina citizens can vote in North Carolina elections."

"We are appreciative of Chairman Gruters and the RNC for their partnership to safeguarding the ballot nationwide."
