We are excited to announce the chef of the Farm to Fork Celebration, Mike Geldart!

Mike Geldart is an award-winning chef and maker of the "best everything bagel in Boston", as coined by the Boston Globe. He got his start at age 10, getting cooking lessons from the chef in the kitchens of his mother's cafe. Mike worked with this chef throughout high school in both West Concord and Harvard, MA, eventually going on to culinary school in Vermont. Over the years, he worked in kitchens, baking and making savory dishes, but made a name for himself between 2005 and 2020 making artisan breads and pastries. He has been the pastry chef for multiple James Beard Award-winning chefs, and his breads and pastries have received the Best of Boston Bread Awards from Boston Magazine 5 times over the past 2 decades. You can now find his recipes published in books and magazines like Bon Appetit, Food & W**e, Saveur, and Art Culinaire.

Mike is looking forward to working in the beautiful kitchen at the Senior Center and serving a menu that makes the most out of our local, seasonal ingredients. Late August is his favorite time for produce, when corn is at its sweetest, melons are at their peak, and peaches, plums and berries are just finishing their season.

He is most excited to "connect the community with our wonderful market vendors".

This August, we're doing something we've never done before.

Hosted in partnership with the Wilmington Senior Center, the Farm to Fork Celebration is a community mixer featuring a tasting menu of hors d'oeuvres and heavy appetizers, crafted from locally sourced ingredients, raffles provided by local businesses and organizations, and live music. It's the new, most delicious, way to support the Wilmington Farmers Market and our community.

Tickets are $75, and every dollar supports WFM's mission to keep bringing fresh produce, local food and artisan goods, and community programming to Wilmington. We hope to see you there!
