➡️ No riding on downtown sidewalks - To help keep pedestrians safe, the Village does not allow you to ride on the sidewalks in downtown Wilmette. While you can still ride on the streets, if you choose to go on the sidewalk, please dismount your bicycles, skateboards, scooters, or roller skates within downtown.

➡️ Help keep sidewalks accessible - Let’s work together to ensure that sidewalks are clear and accessible for everyone, including people with mobility devices. Overgrown bushes or parked cars that block sidewalks can create hazards and make it difficult for neighbors of all abilities.

💙 Thank you for making safety a priority in Wilmette!

Red-winged blackbirds can be aggressive in defending their nests during their breeding season, which occurs late spring through mid-summer. The Village cautions individuals walking near the Metra station, where there are known red-winged blackbird nests. Learn more here: https://loom.ly/UGk6ifM

👉 Please note that red-winged blackbirds are protected by the Illinois Wildlife Code and federally protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. These birds, their eggs, their young, or their active nests may not be removed without a permit.
