Wilmette Police Department We, the members of the Wilmette Police Department, are dedicated to impartial law enforcement This page is not monitored 24/7.

The Wilmette Police Department is a full service law enforcement agency responsible for providing professional police services to the residents and visitors of the Village of Wilmette. We are staffed by forty four sworn police officers who are assigned to either uniform patrol, criminal investigations, a mission team or as a school resource officer. We also maintain our own temporary lock-up and a

twenty four hour communication center as well as a full time police social worker. The Wilmette Police Department was one of the first police agencies nationally to recruit and to make as a condition of employment, a four year college degree. We were also one of the first agencies nationally to obtain Law Enforcement Accreditation from the Commission on Law Enforcement Accreditation (CALEA). We have a highly competitive recruitment and selection regiment that identifies high quality professional law enforcement officers. We pride ourselves on providing a high level of service, for our responsiveness to the community and at all times ethical and impartial enforcement of state statutes and village ordinances. Always dial 911 in emergency situations, or (847) 256-1200 for non-emergency police services.
