Our 7th graders are currently working with Ms. Monarch and Mr. Brockway on an interdisciplinary unit based on the waterfowl of AuSable Marsh and the life and work of John James Audubon, a 19th-century naturalist and artist. Recently, they traveled to the marsh for bird watching in the field using guides and binoculars. Students observed the birds they are learning about in both their art and science classes. They were also able to witness our forest rangers in action, reuniting a gosling that had been separated from its parents and siblings!

Congratulations to our very own Peyton Leerkes who captured the Section VII Girls Golf Individual Championship! Peyton qualified for the New York state championships in June at Wild Wood Country Club in Rochester!

Today, we honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to all the service members in our Willsboro community who have served with courage and dedication. This Memorial Day, we pause to remember, reflect, and express our deepest gratitude.

Budget Vote & Board Election Results

The 2026-2027 Willsboro Central School budget and bus purchase propositions both passed. Detailed results are as follows:

Proposition 1 (School Budget): PASSED
130 YES - 55 NO

Proposition 2 (Board Election - 2 Seats): Krissy Leerkes & Emily Phillips Elected
Emily Phillips - 154 votes
Krissy Leerkes - 153 votes
Other - 9 votes

Proposition 3 (Bus Purchase): PASSED
140 YES - 47 NO

Thank you to everyone who voted, and congratulations to Krissy Leerkes and Emily Phillips on their election to the Board of Education. We are grateful for the community's investment in our school and its continued support of the students we serve.

A reminder that the district budget vote is being held TODAY from 12-8 PM in the school gym.

The ballot will include 3 propositions:

Proposition 1:
Approve the 26-27 budget of $11,458,219

Proposition 2:
Elect 2 members to the board of education for 3-year terms
Candidates: Krissy Leerkes & Emily Phillips

Proposition 3:
Approve the purchase and financing of 1 school bus not to exceed $175,000
