My Willowick Currier June Article:

Hi Everyone,
I am incredibly proud of the dedicated employees who serve our city and the caring residents who call it home. The city had another house fire, and I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our Willowick Police and Fire Department and the neighboring cities whose crews assisted in containing the fires and preventing it from spreading to nearby homes. Just a reminder to park in your driveways and not the street. Most of our streets are very narrow and when you have cars parked on the street instead of in the driveways, it makes it difficult for several fire trucks to get close enough to the fire. You also take the risk of your car being damaged by first responders when parking on the street.

This fire serves as a powerful reminder to always make sure your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are working. The Willowick fire department has free smoke detectors available for Willowick resident if you don't have any or know how old your current ones are. Give the fire department a call and you can pick them up or if you are unable to install them, one of our firemen will install them for you.

It is nice seeing people out walking and riding bikes. Please do not walk in the street, use the sidewalks, the last thing we need is for someone to be hit by a car when it could have been avoided. If you are walking your dog, please have your dog use the tree lawn for potty and not front yards and pick up after your dog. Also, all dogs must be on a leash.

Lastly, I’d like to extend a warm welcome to all new residents.
Thank you for choosing to make Willowick your home! If you have a new neighbor on your street, please take a moment to introduce yourself. A friendly wave or kind word can go a long way in building the sense of community we’re proud of here. Let’s continue to look out for one another, be kind to our neighbors and lend a helping hand whenever we can.

As always, feel free to reach out with any questions, concerns, or ideas. 440-364-4663

Can drop off your Hazardous Waste at Lake County Fairgrounds May 30, 2026 8am-2:00pm. Accepted items include most automotive and household chemicals, lawn, pool, unknown chemicals, lightbulbs, batteries, aerosols, empty propane tanks, kerosene, mercury, oil-based paints, stains, thinners, turpentine, varnishes. For water-based paint cans, simply remove the lid and let the paint dry out or mix in kitty litter to speed up the process—then dispose of them with your regular trash.

Have hazardous household materials you need to dispose of? Lake County residents can safely drop off items such as paints, cleaners, batteries, chemicals, aerosols, propane tanks, and more at the upcoming Household Hazardous Waste Collection events. Please review the flyer below for accepted items, event dates, times, and location information!

This letter was given to all the residents in the "construction" section of E 305 (Willowick Dr to Lakeshore). The city posted it for everyone to be aware. The city should have stated in their original post that it was only for the section under construction. As they move to do each section of E 305, those residents in the section of construction will get this notice at the time it is being done.

Important information regarding the asphalt paving on E. 305th St. on Tuesday May, 26.

Council Meeting Tue May 19, 2026. This is a reminder that residents NEED to call the non emergency police number 440-585-1234 to file complaints when things are happening. Talking about it after the fact or posting it on FB does not help solve the problem. The police or any city department need to know when the event or issue is happening not after. The address this resident is referring to (262 E 324th St) is being sold and under contract. One of the owners decided to rent it out while it is under contract which is illegal with Willowick ordinances because it is not registered as a rental or Airbnb.

Phase One Detour:

ODOT E. 305th Resurfacing Project PID # 120114
Resurfacing of E.305th St. will begin on 1 May 2026. This is an Ohio Department of Transportation project run by them with Great Lakes Crushing as the contractor.

Phase #1 From Lakeshore Blvd. to Willowick Dr.

Traffic will be limited to one lane heading Southbound on the West side on E.305th St. with the North bound lanes on the East side being closed to allow work to be done on them. Once this is complete, they will construct the West side of E.305th from Willowick Dr. to Lakeshore Blvd, while maintaining one lane of Southbound traffic on the East side.

Below is the Detour Map:

04/20/2026

Please read the city article. 305 project is ODOT job, not the city. If you have issues please call the number at the bottom of article. There will be only 1 lane open heading SOUTH during each phase. To help with traffic, use an alternative route to get to the freeway. There will not be any lanes heading north during the construction.
