City of Willow Park, TX

City of Willow Park, TX The City of Willow Park is the second largest city in Parker County, located just west of Fort Worth between the DFW metroplex and Weatherford.

In 1963 residents voted to incorporate under the name of Willow Park. The community had a golf course, fire department, and several churches. Additional subdivisions, small businesses, larger chains, and professional offices, as well as a police department, were put into place during the 1980s. Since that time, city leaders have focused on commercial development along the Interstate 20 corridor and measures to meet the needs of that growth.

Kings Gate Bridge update:
The Texas Department of Transportation has shared with us that the contractor working on the Kings Gate Bridge has gone out of business and will not be completing the job. TxDOT must now await the bond company’s involvement and the selection of a replacement contractor.
The good news – the bulk of the work is complete and once the new contractor takes over, the project should be able to move forward swiftly.
The bad news – we have zero control over the process and do not have a timeline on when work will resume.
We appreciate our community’s patience on this matter and will provide updates as soon as we have them.

Council meeting recap: June 9, 2026
- Council approved a contract with Toni Fisher to officially become the City Manager of Willow Park. Fisher has been with the City of Willow Park since 2021, and prior to Willow Park, worked for City of Aledo. Fisher started in the Development Department at the city before becoming Development Director and later, Assistant City Manager. She has served as Co-interim City Manager since October of 2025. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Tarleton State University and received her Certified Public Manager designation in 2025.
- The council heard a presentation from Freese & Nichols regarding the formation of a new Public Utility Agency for Parker County: as the population in Parker County continues to rise, regional collaboration may be the best route for ensuring our future water supply. A link to last year’s symposium addressing the issue can be found here: https://www.parkercountywaterplan.com/
- Council discussed data centers and flock cameras, noting that neither are a welcome guest in Willow Park. Councilman Contreras and Councilman Smith both requested that staff look into available legal restrictions on the two items.
- An item on street repairs was brought forth for discussion. Council chose not to take action on the item and City Manager Fisher informed the council that the city was currently working with Parker County Precinct 4 on scheduling some repairs, dependent upon the county’s availability to do the work. Fisher also mentioned that street repair planning was part of the Capital Improvement Plan process that is currently underway.
- A salary study was approved for all staff after Mayor Palmer requested an across-the-board $10,000 raise for each Willow Park police officer at the May 12 meeting.
- Other items of note: approval was given for a new software contract, the donation of a police car to Aledo ISD, auction of surplus Public Works items, and the summer budget calendar. The council will hold a special meeting July 18 at 9 a.m. to review and discuss next year’s budget.
The next regular City Council Meeting will be held Tuesday, June 23, at 6 p.m. at City Hall.
