After 32 years in law enforcement, the last 26 years with the Willoughby Police Department, Captain Phil Smith retired from active duty in April of 2024. Captain Smith served our community with honor, dedication, and integrity. Captain Smith served in the Detective Bureau, attended the 245th sessions of FBINA, graduated from PEALS, and was responsible for the department's Patrol Division for the last 4 years of his career.

The members of this department and the residents of the City of Willoughby thank you Captain Phil Smith for your service and wish you continued health and success in your future endeavors with your family. Thank you Phil!!

After 27 years in law enforcement with the Willoughby Police Department, Lieutenant Ken Jordan retired from active duty at the beginning of May of 2024. Lieutenant Jordan served our community with honor, dedication, and integrity. Lieutenant Jordan was a field training officer, a DARE officer, and a range instructor. Lieutenant Jordan served the last 4 years of his career as a Patrol Lieutenant.

A very special day today at Willoughby Municipal Court. Judge Marisa Cornachio was sworn in to her second term of office by the Honorable Justice Joseph Deters of the Supreme Court of Ohio. The Honorable Judge Mark Bartolotta of the Lake County Probate Court provided the welcoming remarks to everyone. Many thanks to all the judges, elected officials, family and friends who were in attendance. We are looking forward to an exciting 2024 and beyond!

PARKING NOTICE

St. Patrick's Day is typically one of the busiest bar days of the year. To help encourage safe celebrations, Willoughby Police Officers will not be enforcing our overnight parking ordinance to those vehicles left in / on any public lot or city street this Friday night / Saturday morning. Officers will enforce other parking violations.

Enjoy friends and family, visit our outstanding establishments, be responsible, and PLEASE, DO NOT DRINK and DRIVE!
