I am both very excited and nervous for the upcoming candidates forum. While I believe I have well thought out and articulated plans, speaking to a large unknown group always brings the butterflies. I have had a chance to meet with both John Haschak for Supervisor and Greta Kanne for Willits City Council on a few occasions, and I am happy to say that our views are very closely aligned on many issues facing our community. From fire protection and housing to downtown revitalization and measure B, there are a lot of new and good ideas floating around amongst the challengers in these races. Ideas that can propel us forward to a new and sustainable chapter for northern Mendocino County.
I look forward to talking with everyone that night and getting the community feedback that is so important to making the right call on issues. Thanks to everyone that has been so supportive and helpful over the last several weeks, your presence and encouragement keeps me focused on doing the best possible job for my everyone in our small city.
I would like to say something about the subject of campaign signs. Golly are they expensive. They are the single largest expense I have come up against in the course of this campaign and it frustrates me to no end. I have tried so hard to refrain from seeking donations, but it has become apparent that without them I will not be able to afford the trappings of a traditional political campaign. I have buttons and stickers on me at all times, and will try to force them on you if you let me, but signage has remains out of the equation without your help. There isn't a go-fund me, as I hope to stay below the $1,000.00 limit for getting federal ID number, and they won't allow political donation pages without one. Please feel free to get in contact with me either here of by phone at 707-513-0983 is you have any questions about my platform, proposed policies, or would like to give a donation to my campaign. Thank you for your time, and I appreciate your support of progressive ideas in the coming election.
Vote Jeremy Hershman, Candidate for Willits City Council on Nov. 6 for WIllits City Council.
