Today we celebrate the strength, compassion, and lived experience of Parent Peer Supporter Providers who walk beside families through some of life’s hardest moments. Your empathy creates hope, your advocacy creates change, and your presence reminds families they are not alone.

Thank you for turning lived experience into connection, courage, and community every single day.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month!
The Vermont Department of Mental Health’s Mental Health Awareness Newsletter has returned, and they featured our very own Melissa Bemis! After finding her way into Peer Support through her own lived experience and training, she’s currently our Peer Support Coordinator! Melissa highlights the importance of self-care and connection, and she shows us how powerful it can be to turn life’s challenges into meaningful support for others.

Thanks Melissa, we are so lucky to have you! ❤

Mental Health Awareness Month is about breaking the silence and healing through connection. 💚 We're calling on our Vermont community to get involved, share your stories, and remind each other that no one is alone.

Here's how you can take action:

• Join us for NAMIWalks Vermont and raise funds to support our free mental health programs! Start a Walk team at namiwalks.org/vermont.

• If you have a powerful story to share, become a NAMI Vermont presenter and help change the narrative around mental health.

• Don't miss our Community Conversation on "The Power of Connection: Impacts of Relationships on Mental Health" on May 21 at Winooski High School. Connect with others who care about mental health! RSVP at namivt.org/community-conversations.

• Become a volunteer and choose the role that suits you best, whether it's helping with the walk, joining a committee, or becoming a presenter.

• Stay in the loop! Sign up for our e-news at namivt.org/join-our-email-list to stay updated on our trainings, programs, and resources.

Let's continue advocating for mental health for all in our community!

Visit namivt.org for more information.
