Mental health matters – no matter where you live. If someone you love is having thoughts of su***de, here are 5 steps you can take to help.

- ‎ASK: “Are you thinking about su***de?” It’s a hard question but can help start an important conversation.
- ‎BE THERE: Listen without judgement to learn how the person is feeling.
- ‎HELP KEEP THEM SAFE: Reducing access to highly lethal items or places can help prevent su***de.
- ‎HELP THEM CONNECT: Call or text 988 to connect them to the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline. Help them reach out to other family, friends, or mental health professionals.
- ‎FOLLOW UP: Checking in to see how they are doing can make a real difference in their life.
