The Monroe Township Music Festival is one of the largest and most anticipated events in our community, attracting thousands of residents and visitors each year. Our goal is simple: provide a safe, fun, and family-friendly environment where everyone can enjoy the festivities.

In light of recent disturbances at carnivals, festivals, and public gatherings throughout the region, the Monroe Township Police Department will be implementing enhanced security measures throughout the event.

ZERO TOLERANCE FOR DISRUPTIVE BEHAVIOR

Any individual found engaging in disruptive, disorderly, or unlawful behavior will be immediately removed from the event and may be subject to arrest. We have adopted a "one strike" policy, there will be no warnings for conduct that jeopardizes the safety and enjoyment of others.

To help ensure a safe atmosphere:
- Face coverings and masks are prohibited (except for medical or religious purposes).
- Officers will maintain a highly visible presence throughout the festival and will proactively address potential issues before they escalate.

JUVENILE ATTENDANCE & PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITY

The Monroe Township Police Department strongly encourages all juveniles attending the Music Festival to be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult.

Parents and guardians are reminded that Monroe Township recently adopted Ordinance O:32-2025, which strengthens parental responsibility standards. Ordinance requires parents and guardians to actively supervise minors and maintain knowledge of their whereabouts, activities, and associations.

If a juvenile engages in disruptive or unlawful conduct, both the juvenile and parent/guardian may face consequences under Township ordinances and applicable state laws.

CURFEW REMINDER

Monroe Township's juvenile curfew remains in effect from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM for all persons under the age of 18. Violations of the ordinance may result in, Court appearances, Fines, Community service, Additional penalties as ordered by the court

We ask all parents to speak with their children before attending the festival and remind them that respectful behavior is expected.

The Monroe Township Music Festival is a celebration of our community. With the cooperation of residents, visitors, parents, organizers, and law enforcement, we can ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you at the Monroe Township Music Festival!

On Saturday May 23, 2026 at approximately 08:43 AM, MTPD was dispatched to Laurelton Village Apartments, located at 601 N. Black Horse Pike, for a fight in progress between two men and one allegedly threatening to retrieve a weapon. Officers arrived on scene and attempted to diffuse the situation but were met with hostility. Toyeon Murry-Ross, a 31 year-old- male from Williamstown, was arrested. During the arrest, Ross continued to act irate and hostile. Ross attempted to spit on Sgt. Mike Prus and then on Ofc. Anthony Tomasello, hitting Ofc. Tomasello in the shoulder.

Ross was charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault on Law Enforcement (Throwing Bodily Fluids), Disorderly Conduct, and Obstructing the Administration of Law. Ross was later remanded to Salem County Jail on Complaint-Warrant 0811-W-2026-000467.

Our officers come to work each day to serve and protect the community, often under challenging circumstances. Spitting on an officer is a deliberate act of aggression that is unacceptable and will be addressed accordingly under the law.
