Congratulations to Jamesville, Hamilton, Oak City, Robersonville, Bear Grass and Griffins Township Fire Depts on receiving the state fire grant.

The work these men and women put in to serve their communities does not go unnoticed. We appreciate each of you and the dedication you have to your departments. Many of our volunteers in the county serve more than one department.

These grant funds will go towards purchasing equipment to better outfit these departments to better serve the citizens of Martin County.

The best time to prepare for hurricanes is BEFORE hurricane season begins. Avoid having to rush through potentially life-saving preparations by waiting until it’s too late. Get your disaster supplies while the shelves are still stocked, and get that insurance checkup early, as flood insurance requires a 30-day waiting period.
