WATER MAIN FLUSHING PROGRAM
The flushing of the water main in Williamston will begin on Monday, July 6, 2026 and will continue for approximately 2 weeks. All flushing will be done during the night from 9:00 pm – 4:00 am, Monday through Wednesday.
People in the immediate area of scheduled flushing should try not to use water. If water is called for during flushing, discolored water could be experienced. If you experience discolored water, you should let cold water run until the water runs clear. To help conserve, you could use the extra water for your plants and gardens. Please limit hot water usage during the flushing period.
Avoid washing white/light colored clothes during these particular hours due to discoloration of water.
This program is to ensure a cleaner, safer, and more efficient water distribution system.
The Williamston Water Department is available to answer any questions about flushing.
