It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Director, Amanda Jackson.

Cancer is a relentless thief, but true to who she was, Amanda fought with every ounce of her being until the very end. Her fierce strength, unwavering resilience, and graceful leadership have left an indelible mark on all of us.

To us, she wasn't just a leader; she was family. She cared deeply for each of her employees and was dedicated to the community we serve. She touched so many lives over the years of being in EMS. Amanda was a special soul. This loss has rocked us to our core.

Please join us in keeping her husband, Chad, their children, and their entire family and circle of friends in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.

Rest in peace, Amanda. You are deeply missed. 🤍

Today marks one year since a devastating tornado swept through Laurel County, changing lives forever. The loss of irreplaceable souls that day—including our own beloved Whitley County 911 Dispatch Assistant Director, Leslie "Snez" Leatherman, whose bravery and dedication guided so many through the chaos until the very end.

While a year has passed, the scars remain, but so does our profound gratitude for the heroes who ran toward the danger.

To our incredible Whitley County EMS personnel who responded that day to help out the Laurel County community and Ambulance Inc of Laurel County: Walter Pennington III Evan R. Cline Dallas Tate LeeJay York Zach Owens Amanda Woods :: thank you.

You were the calm in the absolute center of the storm. You didn't hesitate, risking your own safety to pull neighbors from the rubble, tend to the injured, and offer comfort when it was needed most.

You carried the weight of grief on your shoulders while executing your duties with flawless professionalism and unmatched grace.

Please join us today in pausing to remember the 17 lives lost, honoring their memory, and lifting up the emergency medical service workers who continue to protect us every single day.

The Whitley County Board of Education presented Whitley County EMS last Thursday at their board meeting with a Community Partnership Award following a recent bus accident that our crews responded to.

In moments of crisis, the partnership between our local school districts and emergency services is vital. Because of the rigorous training, seamless coordination, and genuine care displayed by our EMS crews,, the Whitley County students were kept safe and supported throughout a very stressful situation.

We are incredibly fortunate to have such skilled professionals dedicated to the safety and well-being of our community’s children. Thank you for your partnership, your bravery, and your unwavering commitment to our local students. You truly are the best of the best! 🚑💙
