Today, the William & Mary Police Department joins our community and the nation in remembering the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

We honor the victims, the first responders who answered the call, and all those whose lives were forever changed by the events of that day.

We will never forget.

A tremendous loss for the law enforcement community in the Commonwealth. Former Superintendent of the Virginia State Police and police chief William F. Corvello has passed away. He was an amazing leader and led with integrity and professionalism.

🚔 William & Mary Police Department at the 2026 Facilities Operations Safety Standdown

Yesterday, members of the William & Mary Police Department were honored to participate in the first-ever Facilities Operations Safety Standdown.
The event brought together campus departments and partners to provide interactive safety education, wellness resources, and opportunities for employees to connect with one another.

Representing WMPD were Dispatcher Kirkwood, Officer Jackson, Officer Howard, and Officer Elston, who spent the morning meeting Facilities Operations staff, answering questions, sharing safety information, and building relationships across campus.

A big thank you to Facilities Operations for inviting us to be part of this outstanding event. We appreciate the opportunity to support our campus community and work alongside so many dedicated professionals who help make William & Mary a safe place to learn, work, and grow.
