Lead Greater Williamsburg

Lead Greater Williamsburg Program Information

Participation in Lead Historic Triangle requires a serious commitment of time and energy.

The program consists of a welcome reception, orientation, and a two-day retreat to learn more about the program’s objectives, community issues, and to develop teamwork; plus, eight (8) day-long sessions (one per month from October - May) addressing topics of community interest and concern, including:

History and Culture
Tourism and Economics
Courts and Public Safety
Local Government and Politics
Health and Human Services
Education
Media and Public Relations
Environment and Urbanization

The program also includes a class project that will require at least 30 additional hours outside regular class time; a final-day evaluation and graduation; plus, optional social events may be scheduled throughout the year.

To submit a Community Initiative proposal, please provide the following information:
• Organization name and mission
• Primary contact name, email address, and phone number
• Description of the community need or opportunity
• Overview of the proposed Community Initiative
• Expected impact and beneficiaries
• Estimated budget, resources, or materials required
• Whether the initiative is finite or ongoing beyond the LEAD class term

The LEAD Board of Directors is seeking proposals directly from organizations that have identified opportunities where the talents, time, and collective expertise of a LEAD class can make a lasting impact. The selected Community Initiative will be undertaken by the LEAD Class of 2027 between October 2026 and April 2027, prior to the class graduation in May 2027.
