The Southwest Ohio Air Quality Agency has issued an Air Quality Alert for our area. Current air conditions are considered Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups due to elevated pollution and smoke levels.

Sensitive groups include:
• Children
• Older adults
• Individuals with asthma, COPD, heart disease, or other respiratory conditions

Recommendations for those who may be sensitive are:
✅ Limiting prolonged outdoor activity
✅ Keeping windows closed when possible
✅ Using air conditioning with clean filters
✅ Monitoring anyone experiencing breathing difficulties

This week, Jackson Township Fire & Rescue proudly recognizes and celebrates EMS Week 2026.

We are proud to work alongside and support the dedicated EMS providers who serve our community and surrounding areas.

We especially want to recognize our neighboring EMS partners from Williamsburg Township Emergency Services, Stonelick Township Fire Department, and Wayne Township Fire and Rescue. Working together across township lines, our departments help ensure residents receive the highest level of emergency care and service possible.

Thank you to all EMS providers, firefighters, dispatchers, nurses, paramedics, EMTs, and first responders for your commitment, sacrifice, and service.

Today, the Jackson Township Board of Trustees proudly recognizes and honors the dedicated men and women of Jackson Township Fire and Rescue - Clermont in celebration of International Firefighters’ Day, observed on May 4th. This day is also recognized by the Catholic Church as St. Florian Day, honoring the patron saint of firefighters.

We extend our deepest gratitude to these brave professionals who put their lives on the line every day to protect our community. Their courage, commitment, and unwavering service do not go unnoticed. Whether responding to emergencies, providing lifesaving care, or educating the public on safety, they exemplify the very best of public service.

This weekend, we pause to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities.

During National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend, Jackson Township Fire and Rescue remembers those who gave their lives protecting others. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

In their honor, township flags will be lowered to half-staff throughout the weekend as a visible reminder of their sacrifice. We also encourage our community to help “Light the Night Red” as a tribute to our fallen firefighters.

We also stand with the families, friends, and fellow firefighters who carry their legacy forward each day. Their sacrifice reminds us of the true cost of service and the strength of the fire service brotherhood and sisterhood.

Please join us in taking a moment this weekend to reflect and remember.
