....Affiliation with an Auxiliary provides a connection between family members and their First
Responders. Together you provide the sense of pride associated with a community wor

together to improve the lives of its members. Support for Family

Auxiliary provides the family support we all need when crisis hits. Only fellow families can truly
understand what it means to support our first responders. Whether it be during a natural disaster
or the celebration of a new baby. When the community calls, we band together to support each
other. Support for Better Working Conditions
First responder working conditions, equipment, pay and everything else associated with their job is
decided on by government officials. Auxiliary members reach out to the community, spread the
word through their neighbors, churches and schools, improving everyone’s awareness and enlisting
community support. The Union is your strongest advocate providing one united voice. Support for Better Legislation
Unions fight on multiple fronts from safer working conditions to legislation. Together we send a
stronger message to our employers and elected officials. As we grow our membership, our message
gets louder. Legislation is created every day that affect first responders’ working conditions, health benefits,
promotions, pay, and retirement. Having a strong Auxiliary standing beside the union shows our
elected officials that we are the voice of the community and have strength in numbers. Who can Join? Membership is open to family members and significant others of IAFF Local 2498 Union members in good standing. Family
members include spouses, parents, siblings, significant others and children of active, retired or deceased first
responders. Members must be of at least 18 years of age. Please reach out to any union board member for more information:
