This is what true strategic vision looks like! The City of Virginia Beach established a Green Line, an urban-growth boundary, to concentrate development to the north part of the city and protect its agricultural land to the south. Similarly, Spotsylvania established a "Primary Development Boundary" that protects its rural space from I-95 sprawl.

Let’s ask York County to draw a "Green Line" around the last vestige of the county's rural heritage, the Fenton Mill area! Let’s tell York County that our rural land draws tourism (job security for many York residents), protects wildlife, and contributes to the quality of life in our entire region! Let’s tell them that we expect them to and protect York County's culture and proud heritage from developers who only care about lining their own pockets!

Thanks for the picture, Chad. Don was a great friend to York County. He will be missed by all.

Today I am saddened to announce the loss of one of our very own supervisors Don E. Wiggins of Seaford. As many of you know, Don has been a part of York County almost all of his life, contributing many hours as a past Board of Supervisors member for 12 years and also as a private citizen working hard to make York County what it is today.

Don leaves a huge legacy behind. He was instrumental in many large County projects that increased the quality of life for residents, and those who come to visit the history of Yorktown. Some of these projects include the Yorktown waterfront, Seaford Elementary gymnasium, cross walk between Seaford Baptist and Seaford Elementary, fixing drainage issues in Edgehill, which is still an ongoing project in the district today.

Don spent countless hours working hard for candidates in the area, who he believed would bring a brighter future for the County. I am forever grateful for having the opportunity to have talked with Don on many occasions as I ran for Board of Supervisors and after I was in office. He always gave good advice, but most importantly, he gave a great Christian worldview perspective through which I think was his greatest asset.

Don will forever be missed in Seaford and in York County, but his legacy will forever live on through the many great works that he did while being a citizen representative and a community leader.

Good stuff!
